Healthy human relationships have a direct impact on quality of life. This course will show you the importance of meaningful relationships and community membership for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). You will learn techniques you can use to help individuals enlarge their circle of friends and make meaningful connections to their communities. This course will provide skills on how to use an individual’s person-centered plan and circle of support to foster community membership and meaningful relationships.
The goal of this course is to teach DSPs in IDD service settings how to support people in building relationships and community.
