Physical therapy professionals are constantly confronted with a variety of ethical and moral dilemmas. Their decisions, and even their failures to make decisions, can have long-term effects professionally and personally for providers, patients, healthcare entities, and society as a whole. Why does one value win out over another? What does the decision process involve? How do these decisions impact those involved? This course will address ethical and moral dilemmas and the decision-making process using multiple case scenarios. It will also discuss the rules and regulations for the practice of physical therapy in the state of Indiana, as identified in Title 842 of the Indiana Administrative Code.
