Your work as a law enforcement officer is ever-changing. One minute you may be sitting in your patrol car and the next you may be involved in a high-speed chase, defusing a violent interaction between community members, or working to apprehend a known offender. Each situation has contextual factors that you must consider to ensure the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and the community you serve. Contextual intelligence supplies a framework to help you consider these and other complex factors and supports you to navigate complicated environments. This course was developed in partnership with the California School for Forensic Studies at Alliant International University. The goal of this course is to provide law enforcement officers with an introduction to contextual intelligence and the ways in which contextual intelligence supplements intuition, optimizes decision-making, and supports appropriate action.
