Instructor: Susan Almon-Matangos, MS/CCC-SLPLaurie J. Wennerholm, MA/CCC-SLP, BCS-SS, is a clinical specialist in swallowing and swallowing disorders with over 23 years of experience in medical speech-language pathology. She has held positions in acute care, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient/ambulatory care facilities. She has gained extensive experience in evaluating and treating voice and swallowing impairments in acutely ill patients with a clinical specialization in head and neck cancer care. At present, she is employed as a Clinical Specialist for NYU Langone Health with a focus in adult dysphagia and head and neck cancer/research. She is enrolled in the PhD program at The University of Queensland, and her studies are focused on establishing optimal clinical pathways for patients after total laryngectomy. Her goal is to continue her clinical work and relevant research and outcome studies. Her focus has always been the provision of evidence-based, optimal care for the patient with an emphasis on their quality of care.

Susan Almon-Matangos, MS/CCC-SLP, is a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience. She obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from Jacksonville State University and her Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from The University of Alabama. She worked with clients of all ages and a variety of diagnostic conditions in school, hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient clinic, and home health settings. In her previous role as a national clinical director for a large contract therapy company, she created training programs for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology related to the clinical rehabilitation needs of older adults in post-acute care. She currently draws upon her expertise in her role at Relias as Lead Subject Matter Expert Writer for Speech-Language Pathology. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
