Substance Use Treatment with Justice Involved Individuals

There is a high prevalence of justice-involved individuals who have been diagnosed with or meet the criteria for a substance use disorder. As a treatment professional, you should be aware of where along the criminal justice continuum you may be called to provide treatment services and what the challenges of working with individuals at each stage may be.
The goal of this course is to provide addiction, behavioral health counseling, marriage and family therapy, nursing, psychology, and social work professionals working in the health and human services setting with education around the challenges of working with justice-involved populations with a substance use disorder, information that you should collect during assessment, evidence-based practices, and practice standards related to information privacy and confidentiality.

Association of Social Work Boards
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Relias LLC is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
