Dr. Salera-Vieira is the Director of Clinical Program Development at the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, and a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist from Rhode Island who is an author and speaker focusing on safety issues in the perinatal setting. She holds Bachelor's degrees in Social Work (from the University of New Hampshire) and in Nursing (from Rhode Island College), a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a post-Masters Certificate as a Perinatal Nurse Specialist from the University of Washington, Seattle. In addition, she received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rhode Island College. Dr. Salera-Vieira's background includes both clinical and perinatal leadership roles in high-risk and community hospitals, and adjunct faculty for undergraduate and graduate students.  She is an AWHONN instructor in Intermediate and Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring, and holds certifications from NCC in Inpatient Obstetrics, Fetal Monitoring, and Obstetric and Neonatal Quality and Safety. Dr. Hale is the Clinical Program Development Manager at AWHONN and a DNP Mentor at Capella University. Her clinical career has been in obstetric and neonatal care. While an AWHONN member, Dr. Hale served as the Chair of Communications for the AWHONN Ohio Section as well as Section Chair; a member of various committees; Chair of the Membership Committee; Team Lead for the AWHONN Nursing Care of the Women Receiving Regional Analgesia/Anesthesia in Labor Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline;  Corresponding Member to AWHONN’s 2019 Convention Program Committee; and Champion/Lead for the AWHONN Ohio Diaper Drive. LaShea Haynes has been practicing in the area of obstetrical nursing for over 25 years. Her clinical and educational experience and expertise span labor/delivery, antepartum, and mother/baby areas. She is currently working as the founder and president of her own nurse mentoring, certification review, and educational offering company, Perinatal Potpourri. She is also a part-time staff nurse in an LDRP community hospital and the editor of AWHONN’s Healthy Mom&Baby Magazine. She is a designated fetal monitoring instructor trainer through AWHONN. LaShea holds 2 certifications through NCC and currently provides national and international in-services and seminars. She is passionate about saving the lives of mom’s and babies through her hard work and dedication to her activism and community service by providing continual high-risk perinatal education to inspire audiences across the region. She also had the privilege of sitting on Georgia’s Maternal Morbidity & Mortality Review Committee.   

In addition, LaShea is an active AWHONN member. She was the elected Georgia Section Chair for 2 consecutive terms. She served on the Postpartum Support International, Georgia Board of Directors for 1 term, National AWHONN 2019 Conference Planning Committee, and currently represents AWHONN as the State AIMS Representative and a Section Advisory Chair for District 4. LaShea was nominated for the 2021 Professional Distinguished Professional Service Award, the 2021 AWHONN Award of Excellence in Leadership, and was the recipient of the 2018 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award as a demonstration of her dedication to Women’s Health. LaShea was also a recipient of the 2015 AWHONN Award of Excellence in Community Service, Fetal Heart Monitoring Instructor Recognition Award, and she was appointed as the Georgia Lead for the Postpartum Hemorrhage Project. She was selected as the lead facilitator in the state of Georgia to assist with the rising rate of maternal deaths because she has successfully inspired her region to become more active within their professional organization with exciting lectures, published articles, networking, and current trends.

Katrina Johnson MSN/Ed, RN started her nursing career as an LPN, RN (ADN), and she obtained her BSN in 2016 and MSN in 2018. Katrina has been a nurse for 38 years and has worked in medical/surgical, ICU and post surgical units, but she has worked the majority of her career in maternal-child health as a labor and delivery nurse. She has worked in the roles of nurse manager, assistant nurse manager/educator, and simulation coordinator.  She is currently the perinatal safety nurse at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California as well as an adjunct professor at West Coast University. 

Katrina has been an AWHONN member for over 15 years. She is currently a member of the California Conference Planning committee, served on the National AWHONN Corresponding 2020 program committee, and is the LA Valley AWHONN chapter leader. Katrina was recently elected to the AWHONN board of directors for the 2022 term and is the California Perinatal Quality Improvement coordinator. Katrina is also an AWHONN intermediate and advanced fetal monitoring instructor/mentor, neonatal resuscitation, BLS instructor, and TeamSTEPPS master trainer.
