About 1 out of every 3 women will undergo a hysterectomy by the age of 60 and more than 70% of American women will develop uterine fibroids by the age of 50 (The Center for Innovative GYN Care, n.d.). The demand for knowledgeable perioperative providers who can care for these patients undergoing obstetrical and gynecological surgery continues to grow.
The goal of this course is to educate nurses and STs about common gynecological and obstetrical procedures and perioperative considerations for this specialty.
