Contraversive pushing can pose a clinical challenge. Understanding the neuropathology that results in contraversive pushing and leveraging principles of neuroplasticity is key to the development of effective interventions. In this course, you will review the neuropathophysiology that results in pushing, the clinical characteristics of contraversive pushing, and evidence-based interventions for evaluation and treatment.

Alana Garcia attended Seattle University for undergraduate studies and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the Arcadia University. With over 8 years of clinical experience in sub-acute rehabilitation, long-term care, acute care, neurologic intensive care, and neurologic outpatient care, Alana is an expert physical therapy care across the continuum of care. Alana is a board-certified specialist in neurological physical therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association and is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.
