Telehealth is a collection of means or methods for enhancing healthcare, public health, and health education, along with other non-clinical services. Due to the increasing demands of healthcare providers and dwindling resources in place to provide care, knowledge of telehealth services offers immense value to the people served and your organization.
In this course, you will learn the essential telehealth components necessary to conduct a clinical assessment, risk assessment, and utilize formal assessment instruments. You will also learn what hardware and software technological resources are needed to connect with clients via telehealth.
Interactive exercises and practical examples will help you to incorporate these assessment strategies in your own setting.
The goal of this course is to provide addictions, behavioral health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, and social work professionals in health and human services with information on conducting clinical assessments via telehealth.
Although many federal and state laws and licensing board regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, this course focuses on best practices for conducting clinical assessments via telehealth. Providers are urged to check with their licensing board and keep current with evolving pertinent federal and state regulations.

Bryn Davis received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Sociology from the University of Virginia and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynchburg College. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. She also holds a national certification as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) through NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. Additionally, she is certified as a Clinical Telemental Health Provider. Prior to joining Relias in 2020, she served as Clinical Director of a community mental health agency, developed an intensive treatment program for individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders, and provided outpatient counseling focused on trauma-informed care.
