Respiratory therapists (RTs) need to use a variety of objective assessments when evaluating patients in post-acute care settings. Given the variety of clinical presentations, an RT may have to select an assessment typically used in hospital settings for an acute patient or use an outpatient assessment for a telehealth visit. This course provides learners with an overview of RT assessments, considerations for developing an appropriate treatment plan based on findings, and guidelines for how to communicate assessment results and recommendations to the interdisciplinary care team.
