The purpose of this course is to help healthcare providers understand Safety Data Sheets, as regulated by OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard and the U.N.’s Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (commonly referred to as the GHS). The content of this course focuses on familiarizing providers with the format and contents of Safety Data Sheets, including standard pictograms. This course will also familiarize healthcare employers with their responsibilities to maintain and make available Safety Data Sheets for all employees as well as good practices for storing, handling, and disposing of potentially hazardous materials.

He honed his research skills as a nationally-ranked collegiate policy debater and debate coach at Whitman College.
