Addressing cultural needs is important to providing exceptional cancer care. Culture embodies who we are as people and acknowledging the factors that make up a patient’s and family’s culture will help improve patient-centered care. Cultural aspects of care have the potential to greatly impact a patient’s experience and applying communication skills will help clinicians navigate conversations about culture.
