Melvin J. Greengus, MPH, RD, LDN, is President of Basic 4, Inc., a company that provides nutrition consulting services. Basic 4 employs licensed and registered dietitians who are experts in geriatric and pediatric nutrition, as well in food service sanitation. Mel received his bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition at Mundelein College in Chicago and his master's degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His work experience includes 13 years as a clinical dietitian at several Chicago area hospitals, covering a wide variety of clinical situations. Mel is also an adjunct professor/senior lecturer at Loyola University Chicago. He has taught basic nutrition and food chemistry courses to undergraduate students. He currently teaches food management, community nutrition, and nutrition in the elderly at the graduate level to dietetic interns. Mel is licensed in food service sanitation by the state of Illinois and has been a registered dietitian for over 19 years with the American Dietetic Association.
