Pulmonary Rehab: An Introduction to Program Requirements and Outcome Measures

Pulmonary rehabilitation programs have specific requirements for service delivery. Documentation must provide evidence of medical necessity for each patient’s participation and demonstrate progress across multiple disciplines throughout the course of care. An interdisciplinary team approach with consistent, well-documented communication is an important part of optimizing patient outcomes. This module provides the learner with knowledge to meet overall program requirements and standards for documentation and outcome measurement within an interdisciplinary pulmonary rehabilitation or respiratory services program.

Parker, MSPT, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Colby College in 1990 and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 1993. She has over 25 years of experience working with a broad spectrum of adults in many different settings, including acute care, outpatient, home care, nursing home, assisted living, and wellness facilities. Susan Almon-Matangos, MS/CCC-SLP, is a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience. She worked with clients of all ages and a variety of diagnostic conditions in school, hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient clinic, and home health settings.
