Administrators, funders, payers, and patients increasingly encourage healthcare providers to implement evidence-based practices into their clinical practice. andomized controlled trials is the gold standard approach to identifying a practice as evidence-based. However, in many disciplines, such an approach is not always feasible. As such, there are a variety of different research methods used to empirically test practices. This course will provide an overview of why the use of evidence-based practices is important in clinical care as well as the various methods used to validate a practice as evidence-based. It will also discuss the benefits and challenges of implementing evidence-based practices in clinical care and review the steps providers should take to implement them in clinical practice.
