Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based, client-centered approach to engaging people in conversations about change. Shown to be effective in a variety of settings, MI is increasingly being adopted by therapists, substance use disorder counselors, and health care workers as a tool to help clients make important behavioral changes.
