This course provides an overview of the dimensions of whole person wellness and ways to implement activity programs that meet those needs. The course begins by providing an overview on the importance of activities and describing the expectations affecting the activity department, then examines how to set up an activity program that meets the regulatory requirements as well as residents’ needs and desires. You will learn how providing a variety of activities can impact a resident’s quality of life and satisfaction as well as overall family satisfaction regarding the care their loved one receives. You will also gain practical ways to include other staff and volunteers in helping to engage the residents they serve. You will also learn ways to evaluate and assess your overall activity program.
