Transitioning from Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS)-D1 to OASIS-E may have its challenges. In this module you will experience a view and comparison of OASIS-D1 and how it corresponds to OASIS-E. You will be presented the information in a unique way through integration of OASIS-E directly into what you are most familiar with already in OASIS-D1. Throughout the module we will identify and review the changes to assessment items and formatting of the new OASIS instrument. Evaluation of a patient’s sensory and integumentary (skin) status is a required element of the comprehensive assessment to inform the development of the plan of care. This module describes guidelines for accurately completing the sensory status and the integumentary status sections of the OASIS. Note: Unless otherwise stated, the information in this course was sourced from the OASIS-E Guidance Manual published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS, 2022).
