Older adults must manage the transitions that frequently come with aging, such as physical decline and the loss of loved ones. Unfortunately, some older adults are unable to effectively manage these types of changes, which puts them at risk for developing behavioral health disorders. This course discusses the most common behavioral disorders and the screening tools used to help identify these disorders. It also discusses the levels of care and available community support to help older adults achieve and maintain their quality of life as they grow older.
The goal of this course is to educate administrators, nurses, and social service professionals in post-acute care on behavioral health in older adults.
