Advance Directives

Advance directives are legal documents with instructions that apply if an adult is not able to make decisions about their own healthcare. They are meant to ensure that a person’s values related to dying, quality of life, and other relevant considerations are honored. It’s important for everyone to have a basic understanding of what advance directives are and when they are applied so personal wishes can be observed at the end of life.
