Stress Management Strategies for Behavioral Health Professionals

Stress Management Strategies for Behavioral Health Professionals

Stress and its effects are serious concerns in behavioral health professions. Burnout, compassion fatigue, and other consequences of chronic stress can have adverse effects both on the professionals who experience them and their clients.

Professionals often help others manage their stressors while neglecting their own. Workplace and situational stressors make stress management difficult. Establishing habits that support wellness, learning to rely on their mind-body connection, and building resilience can help protect behavioral health professionals from stress.

The goal of this course is to provide social workers and professional counselors in health and human services settings with strategies to manage chronic stress.
