This introductory course provides an overview of spinal cord injury (SCI), and typical impairments occupational therapy providers should address. Learners will gain an understanding of the recovery process and complexities related to the transition to home, work, and daily life. Interventions to maximize functional independence and prevent and manage secondary complications are presented. This course provides occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants with the skills needed to provide safe and effective care to individuals with spinal cord injuries.
