Healthcare professionals need to understand the ways military families are affected by the deployment cycle, combat stress, and frequent moves. These aspects of military life present unique stressors that civilian families generally do not experience. This course provides an overview of the ways military life affects families as well as strategies to help them navigate the challenges of deployment and frequent relocation.

The goal of this course is to provide addictions, behavioral health counseling, case management/care management, marriage and family therapy, nursing, psychology, and social work professionals in health and human services settings knowledge to help military families navigate the effects of deployment, combat stress, and frequent moves.
