Diseases and injuries often affect the feet, causing debilitating pain and immobility. Many of these conditions do not respond to conservative medical treatment, making surgical intervention necessary. A wide range of surgical procedures are used to treat foot problems and help patients regain normal mobility. This course will cover coding procedures performed on the feet and toes using the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) and the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code sets. The course will focus on identifying the appropriate code based on the coding guidelines and instructions in the Musculoskeletal System subsection (20100-29999) of CPT. A current copy of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®), Professional Edition, is strongly recommended to optimize your understanding of the content covered.
