Depression is a common condition that occurs at the end of life and can have negative effects on the individual if not recognized and treated appropriately. This course will discuss the differences between sadness, grief, and depression. We will also review some of the risk factors, causes, and demographics of depression at end of life. Symptoms of end of life depression and interventions are described. All caregivers need to understand depression and ways they can help those who have it.
