Hospice Care - Introduction to Palliative Care

Each person’s journey through life is full of unique relationships, experiences, and milestones. Within the journey of life, such milestones may signify the beginning, middle, and even the end of life. The end of life can be one of the most emotional and personal milestones a person may ever experience. However, even as a person approaches the end stage of life, they still desire the highest possible quality of life. The palliative approach focuses on the quality of “living through” a life-threatening illness. Its goal is to help individuals facing a terminal illness, and therefore the end of life, achieve quality of life using a holistic approach. In this course, you will learn how the palliative care approach to the end of life helps individuals achieve this.
