Fall Prevention Focused Learning
Fall Prevention Focused Learning

Falls can cause serious bodily injury, head trauma, anxiety, and sometimes death. Falling can permanently limit a person’s mobility and independence. People with intellectual disabilities are at an increased risk for falls, so support staff need to be aware of risk factors both internal and in the environment to minimize the risk of falls occurring. In this course, you will learn why falls occur, how you can prevent them, and some basic information on responding to falls.
